Re: Risen Heat0
To tell you the truth, I find it pretty confusing!
--- Background ---
I would not use a tile background , that is just too much... I would rather use one color that works with the forum background, or a gradient image, or perhaps both!
--- Logo ---
The logo works fine... Tells you what the theme/skin is all about, though it would need some more work!
--- Menu ---
Pretty boring buttons, and the red does not work on the grey background... The edges cuts like a knife in the eyes!
--- Table Headers ---
..secondarytitle..
I really don't know why you are using a 500x500 image as background image on the table headers, since the headers are set to a height of 25px..
Pretty cool background though!
..catHead..
Here's pretty hard to read what the text says...
Perhaps you want to tone down the stripes some!
--- Buttons ---
Somehow I don't feel like the "New Topic", "Add Reply" buttons blends in with the "Risen Heat" theme..
Something like this for example (just a quick image).
I would have given the buttons some more work!
--- Text ---
You tend to mix alot of font styles.... Try to use same font through the whole forum..
The red text color (#B0281B) works great with the gray forum background, and also does the blue text color (#251976)!
I personally wouldn't have mixed the red, blue and white text colors... I would have stayed with the white and red, and then chosen a darker red color for the post text!
-- Overall --
Like I said from the start... It is confusing since you mix alot of stuff (colors, fonts, backgrounds and so on)!
Try to stick to the theme/skin idea... For instance if you're going to make a ice theme/skin try to keep all graphics and text as cold as possible.
I know that it's your first theme, and I'm not saying all this just to step on your toes... It's great that you're doing themes/skins, and you will increase your skills in skin making..
Keep up your work!!! Practice makes perfect!
This is just my way of seeing it... I bet you wouldn't like my themes!
